Hec Goodall cartoons on display

Last updated on 13-Feb-17

Hec Goodall spent his childhood and early adult years on Phillip Island, where he was well known as a sportsmen, inventor and cartoonist. Later he moved to Coffs Harbour where he started the Porpoise Pool, specialising in treating injured and sick dolphins. Hec is well recognised throughout the world for his expertise on dolphins. Now in his eighties, he continues to draw and paint, including various wildlife murals around the Coffs Harbour township. He has made available a retrospective collection of copies of his cartoons for the society. A three panel display of the cartoons, titled "His Heart on His Sleeve: Cartoons of Hec Goodall" can be viewed in the museum until mid-April. The cartoons include social and political commentary on issues going back to the 1970s,
