The Phillip Island & District Historical Society Inc last week won a major award: the Archival Survival Award for Volunteer-run Museums. We won the award for the Phillip Island & San Remo Oral History Radio Project, which we ran in conjunction with South Gippsland Community radio station 3MFM, who were successful in getting a Public Records Office of Victoria Local History Grant to record and broadcast the series of 17 talks. Most of the talks' text can be found in the Essays and Talks section of this website. Pictured are members John Eddy and Christine Grayden with the award after the ceremony. Christine was the co-ordinator of the oral history series. Photo by Simon Fox, Deakin Univeristy
