Filming for our Touch Screen!

Last updated on 7 September 2017

The society was successful this year in receiving a Phillip Island Community Benefit Fund grant to purchase a touch screen and kiosk for the museum, with a component for our 'computer guru' Simon Eddy to put all of our text and images onto the touch screen computer for us. Today we kicked off the project by filming local Boonwurrung man Steve Parker giving us a cheery Wominjeka! Welcome! and saying some words in Boonwurrung and English for us to go with images on the screen. Meanwhile, Julie Box is searching down images and text for us for Artists on Phillip Island - Past and Present. John Jansson has been working on Shipwrecks around Phillip Island. Anne Davie has been putting together our History of Phillip Island Farming presentation. Christine Grayden has been working on The Guest House Era. Graeme Clauscen is working on Surfing on Phillip Island. Each topic will be just a quick snapshot with about 6-12 images per topic and short text, both written and audio. This is a very exciting project for the society! We'll keep you posted. Photo shows Graeme holding the cue sheets, Simon checking for glitches and Steve making his presentation.
