NAIDOC open day a success

Last updated on 12 July 2016

Last Friday, July 8 2016, the society mounted a display of some of our registered Boonwurrung/Bunurong aboriginal stone implements, along with preserves and teas containing bush tucker plants and made by Rhyll Trout and Bush Tucker Farm. The museum was open from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. and admission was free, as per all of our Open Days. About 60 people, including many families, came through and enjoyed the display. Thanks to Anne Davie, John Jansson and Bruce Procter who volunteered all day in the museum. Anne also bought the Reconciliation feather banner which was in the hallway all day, and some beautiful books on aboriginal art and history for visitors to browse. A good NAIDOC weeek activity!
